Zvishavane Community Share Ownership Trust (ZCSOT) is planning to build an abattoir and purchase pullets for table egg farming, packing, and distribution.
Mimosa Mine gave a 10% stake to Zvishavane Community Share Ownership Trust following the gazetting of a law by the government requiring mining companies to help local communities develop. In a notice, the Trust invited bidders for a short-term supply of poultry provisions in anticipation of future egg farming business.
“ZCSOT is inviting bids from suitable qualified and experienced service providers for the provision of a poultry value chain project in Zvishavane.
‘In the long term, the Trust intends to construct an abattoir. In addition, the Trust also intends to purchase pullets for table egg farming, packing, and distribution. In the process, it intends to capacitate farmers in the region to also grow maize feed to support the poultry value chain project,” ZCSOT said.
ZCSOT said the bidders were to supply for short-term breeders, stock feeds, veterinary supplies, broiler growers, table egg production, and abattoirs.
