A poultry farm employee assists in daily operations on the farm. This can include checking birds, collecting eggs and feeding. Additionally, they also perform routine maintenance on the house and watering/heating system as needed.
Duties And Responsibilities
1.Ensure birds have access to food and water.
2.Identify sick or injured birds.
3.Vaccinating of birds.
4.Assist with egg collection, washing and sorting (on a layer farm)
5.Assist with putting eggs in cartons (on a layer farm)
6.Control temperature of houses for ultimate bird comfort
7.Conduct maintenance on the house and watering/heating system as needed
8.Control house lighting to meet bird needs
Qualifications And Experience
Must have at least 12 months of work experience in poultry farming.
